DogCitySeattle.com Site Design

Role: Project Manager/Lead Designer

Project: DogCity.com Site Redesign

Goal: Redesign client site, including SEO, social media and mobile viewing optimization for less than $1000 that can be maintained by clients front office, non-technical team.

Solution: I leveraged the website template site, Wix.com to create a new layout design that was mobile optimized for dog grooming appointment creation and incorporated SEO best practices to drive up search results on the major search engines.  Additionally, I revised the site copy to focus on happy "guest" stays and fun information to differentiate the company from the

local competitors and big-brand stores nearby.   Finally, I worked with the owner and their front office team to create a plan that used social media to increase their "raving fans" and create communication lines with the dog owners who used their services by sharing daily posts (Twitter/Facebook/Instagram) with monthly posts focused on education and entertainment of dog owners.

Results:  Within two weeks, the owners reported direct phone calls increased 100% week-over-week, and the calls that came in were resulting in scheduled grooming or doggy-daycare stays ~25% more of the time.  Additionally, due to my work in SEO and SEM optimization we were able to gain the top spot for searches in West Seattle for "Dog grooming", "Dog Day Care" and "Pet Grooming".  Previously, DogCity.com 's SEM results were relegated to the second page of results, and rarely had resulted in direct contacts.  After optimizing the site, and working with Google Analytics search results teams we were able to include click to dial links as well as create search results that included a clear call to action, click to call phone number and complete email address which drove higher (~15-20%) increases in contacts about their services.
